Connecticut Government seeks to attract Aerospace companies


On a visit to São José dos Campos, on May 19th, Beatriz Gutierrez, from Connecticut Department of Economic Development, visited companies and talked to entrepreneurs in the aerospace and defense industry.

At Cecompi, the Center for Competitiveness and Innovation of Cone Leste Paulista, Beatriz Gutierrez presented the incentives and benefits available to and high-tech innovative companies interested in investing in the United States. In addition to customized guidance, the Brazilian companies that decide to invest there also have access to initiatives such as the Connecticut Innovations, an organization that offers flexible financing and strategic guidance to startups.

During the visit, Beatriz Gutierrez spoke with Carlos Fernando Rondina Matthew, the Brazilian Aerospace Cluster coordinator, an organization that brings together companies in the aerospace supply chain and supports the inclusion of companies in the global market. With a potential cooperation agenda, the representative of Connecticut and the cluster coordinator will meet again at the Paris Air Show, the main industry event that takes place in June in France.

The aerospace segment is strategic for Connecticut. For this reason, the State Governor and the Secretary of Economic Development of Connecticut will be participating in the Paris Air Show. The US delegation already confimed an agenda with Embraer and Cecompi during the event.

Beatriz Gutierrez visited Brazil in order to attract Brazilian companies of four main segments: aerospace & defense, medical equipment, information technology and biotechnology. Brazil is one of the four strategic countries for the government of Connecticut, together with Germany, China and Israel.
