PPPs and Privatization in Brazil – 2013

2013 was a year marked by privatization and concessions BID process in Brazil

Complex BID process throughout the year established the concession of  3,300 kilometers of highways to the private initiative – an 81% increase in the highway network assigned to private enterprises. Besides that, two airports have also been privatized: Galeão, in Rio de Janeiro, won by consortium Aeroportos do Futuro for R$ 19 billion (US$ 8 billion); and Confins, in the city of Belo Horizonte, for R$ 1.82 billion (US$ 770 million).  We expect more Concessions and PPPs (Pubic and Private partnerships) for the New Year.
